Paws for a Cause Vet Care, formerly known as Spay Illinois, is proud to announce it will host the Namaste Spay & Neuter Initiative in collaboration with the Jason Heigl Foundation on Monday, June 2, 2025. The initiative will take place at the organization’s brand-new, full-service veterinary facility in Naperville and aims to tackle the ongoing crisis of overcrowded animal shelters and the needless euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets.

Through this compassionate program, 80 pet owners will receive free spay and neuter surgeries, rabies vaccinations, and microchipping. Services will be provided to qualifying individuals, including those receiving LINK, SSDI, Unemployment, Medicaid, and Veterans benefits, as well as seniors 62 years and older.

“As a mission-driven organization, our goal has always been to remove barriers to veterinary care, especially for those in our community who need it most,” said Kathi Daniels, CEO of Paws for a Cause Vet Care. “Partnering with the Jason Heigl Foundation for this initiative allows us to continue saving lives by preventing unwanted litters and providing critical health services for pets whose families may otherwise go without.”

The Namaste Spay & Neuter Initiative represents Paws for a Cause Vet Care’s continued commitment to making affordable, accessible veterinary care available to underserved communities in Illinois. The event also marks one of the first major community outreach programs in the organization’s new state-of-the-art facility, which features an expanded surgical suite.

The Jason Heigl Foundation, founded in honor of animal advocate Nancy Heigl by her daughter, actress Katherine Heigl, has long been a champion of reducing shelter euthanasia through targeted spay and neuter initiatives nationwide.

Appointments for the June 2nd initiative are limited and required in advance. For more information, please call 630-961-8000.

This opportunity is available for owned pets only. We are unable to accommodate feral cats or rescue partners for this event. A current rabies vaccine is required for all pets receiving surgery. If your pet is not currently vaccinated, we will gladly provide a rabies vaccine at no cost on the day of surgery through the support of the Jason Heigl Foundation. Please note that while the vaccine is complimentary, rabies tags will be available for an additional charge. Additional charges may apply.
