At Paws for a Cause Vet Care, we believe that access to veterinary care is not a privilege: it is a community necessity.
That’s why we intentionally operate on a Community Pet Access model, designed to remove financial barriers while preserving the highest standards of medical care.
We set our fees 40%+ below the average market price in our service area, allowing significantly more families to seek preventative, urgent, and ongoing veterinary treatment. These reduced rates are made possible through careful operational design, philanthropic support, and a nonprofit structure that prioritizes community impact over profit.
We know how stressful it is when your pet is sick and needs care. We always accept cash, debit, and major credit cards. However, we’re unable to accept checks or American Express cards.
We also offer additional payment options to help make sure the cost of care doesn’t add to the stress. Together, we can help ensure your pet receives all the quality care they need and you can spread the cost over time.

Scratch Pay
Scratch Pay is essentially a loan. You apply for a payment plan online, and you will know if you are approved within minutes. Once approved, you can choose your payment plan option.
VetBilling
If you applied for our other financing options and did not qualify, you may still have an option available.
One of our managers can discuss an alternative financing option that is available to everyone who meets our basic guidelines.
Vetbilling is intended for urgent surgeries and dental procedures when care cannot reasonably be delayed.
The process starts with a couple of brief questions from our management staff, who will help determine whether this option is appropriate for your pet’s situation and walk you through the process.
Any payment plan will require a percentage-based down payment, determined by the estimate you receive. You must pay this down payment directly to Paws for a Cause Vet Care or VetBilling at the time of surgery drop-off or before services are rendered.
The remaining balance may be financed interest-free, as outlined in the provided payment schedule. VetBilling requires a $25 startup fee and a $3 monthly maintenance fee. These fees are paid directly to VetBilling and are not paid to Paws for a Cause Vet Care.
Please note that this financing option is reserved for urgent surgeries and dentals and must be arranged before services are rendered. Our goal is to help make necessary veterinary care more accessible while setting clear expectations about the process from the beginning.
